How HeSuVi Works

HRIR Technology

HeSuVi uses Head-Related Impulse Responses (HRIRs) - sound profiles recorded from various commercial virtual surround algorithms. These profiles contain spatial information about how sound reaches your ears from different directions.

Convolution Processing

Through Equalizer APO's convolution filter, HeSuVi applies these HRIRs to your audio, transforming a 7.1 input into binaural stereo output that creates the illusion of speakers placed around you.

Binaural Audio

The result is binaural audio that tricks your auditory system into perceiving directional sound, creating an immersive 3D audio experience through just two speakers (your headphones).

Installation Guide

Prerequisites

Equalizer APO must be installed first. HeSuVi works as an extension to Equalizer APO and cannot function without it.

Download HeSuVi

Download the latest version of HeSuVi from SourceForge or the official repository.

Install HeSuVi

Run the HeSuVi installer. The software will automatically detect your Equalizer APO installation and configure itself accordingly.

Select Your Headphones

Launch HeSuVi and select an EQ preset specific to your headphone model from the extensive library. This is crucial for optimal binaural effect.

Choose HRIR Profile

Select your preferred virtualization algorithm (Dolby Atmos, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) and adjust settings to your preference.

Configure Audio Input

For systems without native 7.1 support, install a virtual audio cable (like VB-Cable) to create a virtual 7.1 input that HeSuVi can process.
